About Siya
Siya began with a dream — my amma’s dream.
I have always had a passion for business, but the true inspiration behind Siya has been my mom. When my younger son was born, she started a small clothing business simply because she wanted to do something she loved. She has always been a dreamer. Even in her 50s, slowing down was never really an option for her. She continues to work, not because she has to and not for the money, but because she genuinely loves what she does.
In 2024, Siya began as my little journey to support Amma and give her dream a bigger space.
But somewhere along the way, it became my dream too.
As I started choosing sarees, learning about different weaves and crafts, meeting the hands behind them, and understanding the stories and traditions woven into each piece, I fell in love with the world of handlooms. A saree stopped being just something beautiful to wear. I began to see the craftsmanship, the hours of work, the generations of skill, and the story behind every weave.
I’m Swathi Gayam — a wife, a mom to two energetic, beautiful boys, a Data Engineer by profession, and the woman behind Siya.
Between being a wife, a mother, my career, family, and everyday life, Siya is something I choose to make time for. Not because I have to, but because I truly love it. The late nights, the endless learning, curating every collection, talking to artisans and customers — it is the passion behind it that keeps me going.
Today, Siya is a journey shared by Amma and me — rooted in her courage to keep dreaming and my growing love for Indian handlooms.
Every saree we bring to you is thoughtfully chosen, with a story, a craft, and the hands behind it in mind.
Welcome to Siya — from our family to yours.
